Division of Pediatric Critical Care

The Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship was established in 2012 with the first fellow beginning training in 2013. The program is accredited by the ACGME and is currently approved for three positions, one in each of the three years of training.

The curriculum has the fellows working for 16 months of this time in either the PICU or PCICU. Fellows have 15 months dedicated to research and other scholarly activities. Research experiences are available in both basic sciences and the clinical setting with the goal of having fellows receive exposure to both of these settings. The rest of the time is divided an anesthesiology month and various electives.

We are based at Children's of Mississippi at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. This is home to Mississippi's only pediatric intensive care unit, pediatric emergency room and Level 1 pediatric trauma center.

We participate in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP) for Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and accept applications via the AAMC's ERAS program.
