Children's Safe Center
The Children's Safe Center provides care for children and young adults who are suspected of being neglected or abused. Part of Children's of Mississippi, our mission is to provide a safe environment for mistreated children and their families.
Trained child abuse professionals provide medical examinations and treatment in a child-friendly atmosphere.
Staff members are trained child abuse professionals with extensive medical, courtroom and investigative experience in child maltreatment.
- The Children's Safe Center medical director is a pediatrician trained in child abuse prevention and care and is the only board-certified forensic/child abuse pediatrician in Mississippi.
- Our specially trained team helps determine if an injury or medical issue was caused by abuse, neglect, or accident.
- Our clinicians are able to provide expert medical testimony as needed to promote the truth in all cases.
All citizens of Mississippi are required by law to report all cases of suspected child abuse. Anyone who suspects child abuse or neglect should contact the Mississippi Department of Human Services' Child Abuse Hotline immediately at (800) 222-8000 or submit an online report.
