  • Dr. Alaina Herrington is an Assistant Professor. She is renowned throughout the nursing education community for her enduring leadership in simulation education. She has spearheaded state, national, and international projects that expand student and clinical learning through simulation. She has cultivated simulation educators through creating steps, tools, exemplars, and courses leading them with knowledge to achieve simulation certifications and accreditation. Her research, mentorship, and contributions in creating standards of best practices have been results of initiatives she led on international boards, committees, and task forces shaping simulation’s future. She has and is mentoring educators from her local region and around the world. Dissemination of her work has specifically impacted Japan, Turkey, Ireland, South Africa, and China universities to improve their learners’ performance. She has helped over 20 organizations from around the globe to become accredited in simulation. Some of her most significant contributions have been conducting a statewide simulation assessment, creating a statewide simulation faculty development program, founding the Society for Simulation in Healthcare’s Online Accreditation Courses, and being a creator/contributor of the National League for Nursing’s Nursing Edge Blog.

  • Stefanie became a part of the JGGCSC team in October 2016 as a standardized patient and took an administrative position in October 2019. As a simulated participant manager, she is involved in the daily operation of the center, leading simulated participant education, and creating multiple interprofessional educational activities. Stefanie is also the M3 course coordinator for the UMMC School of Medicine.
