Biography: Monica J Sutton completed her PhD in clinical psychology at Jackson State University, and her doctoral residency program at Mississippi State Hospital. Dr. Sutton is a licensed clinical psychologist and a Professor with the University of Mississippi Medical Center in the Department of Pediatrics, Center for the Advancement of Youth (CAY). As a Professor within the CAY Clinic, Dr. Sutton completes psychological assessments as well as provides direct treatment for patients with various mental health issues and developmental delays. Dr. Sutton also conducts family therapy with a focus on parenting skills, effective communication skills and parent-child relationships. In addition to her duties at CAY, Dr. Sutton is involved in teaching and supervision of doctoral level psychology trainees within the UMMC Psychology Internship (Residency) Training Program.
