Biography: I grew up in Natchitoches, LA, and then attended Ole Miss for college. I met my wife while attending UMMC School of Medicine, and we got married and graduated from medical school in 2005. We did residency at Wake Forest in Winston Salem, NC. She completed Internal Medicine, and we stayed in Winston Salem for 2 extra years while she completed an Endocrinology fellowship. I completed Emergency Medicine residency, and worked in a small ED outside of Winston Salem for 2 yrs.
I came on faculty at UMMC in 2005, and I have enjoyed teaching in the clinical and classroom setting, and mentoring medical students and residents. Vanessa and I have 3 kids, ages 11, 9, and 6. I enjoy doing anything with our family and I also like to play golf and fish when I have time.
