Biography: Dr. Simon Karam graduated from the Lebanese University Faculty of Medical Sciences in 2002. He completed Pediatrics Residency at Saint George Hospital University Medical Center affiliated to Balamand University in Beirut in 2006. He came to the United States in 2008 and finished a Pediatrics Residency and a Fellowship in Neonatology at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System. In 2013, he joined the faculty of University of Mississippi Medical Center as a neonatologist. He serves as the chair of the NICU Guidelines Committee where he is in charge of developing guidelines to standardize the practice in the NICU at UMMC. He also serves as chair and member of multiple other committees in the NICU and in the School of Medicine. He serves as a site Principal Investigator of multiple NIH studies and clinical trials.
