Biography: Dr. Holla is a native of New Delhi, India where she completed medical school training. She then attended Michigan State University for pediatric residency training and Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland for neonatology fellowship. During her fellowship, she conducted basic science research wherein she studied the impact of infection on control of breathing and serum and brainstem cytokine levels in a rat pup model. Upon completion of her neonatology fellowship, she joined the faculty at UMMC in August of 2020 and is pleased to call Mississippi her home. As faculty at UMMC, she has continued to build on her interest in research and has been Principal Investigator and Sub-Investigator in numerous clinical trials. Her passion for the provision of quality medicine led her to develop multiple division-wide Quality Improvement efforts, and she was promoted to Neonatal ICU Quality Director. In her free time, Dr. Holla enjoys gardening and baking.
