Biography: Dr. Nick Hoda was born in Hattiesburg, MS and a graduate of Hattiesburg High School. He earned his BA, MS, and PhD in psychology from Mississippi State University which included additional away training at DuPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE and at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, OH in Behavioral Pediatric Psychology. Upon completion of those studies, he returned to MS to complete the prerequisites for medical school at Mississippi College and then attended medical school and residency training in Emergency Medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS in 2017. He completed the Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Fellowship in 2018.

Dr. Hoda serves in multiple capacities including Director of Emergency Ultrasound Division, Director of Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship, Assistant Director of the Emergency Medicine Clerkship, member of the Emergency Medicine Education committee, member of the Emergency Medicine Residency Interview and Selection committee, member of the Emergency Medicine Clinical Competency Committee, and member of the School of Medicine Admissions File Review subcommittee.

Dr. Hoda is passionate about teaching at all levels and has received awards for "Excellence in Medical Student Education", "School of Medicine Evers Society M4 Attending of the year", "Emergency Medicine Excellence in Teaching Award", and "School of Medicine Trailblazer Teaching Award."

Dr. Hoda is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians.

Dr. Hoda resides in Crystal Springs, MS, with his wife, Jill, and daughter, McGee, where he often spends time reading about ultrasound when not at work.
