Andrew R. Hayslett, MD
Specialties: Children's Palliative Medicine, Complex Care
Gender: Male
Biography: After growing up and graduating from college in Texas, Dr. Hayslett joined Teach for America and was placed in the Mississippi Delta to teach high school art. He met his future wife there and ended up teaching for 5 years, two of which were in Jackson after moving there in 2005. The next 4 years were spent working in a restaurant and preparing for med school while his wife went to law school. After her graduation, Dr. Hayslett went to UMMC School of Medicine and then completed a Pediatrics residency and a Hospice and Palliative Medicine fellowship there. He splits his time between Palliative Care consults and the Complex Care inpatient service at the Children's Hospital. At home, he’s known to be a helpful husband and devoted dog owner, and his son awarded him a trophy for Outstanding Achievement in Fatherhood.
