Biography: I earned an Associate Degree in nursing from Holmes Community College in Ridgeland, MS in 2009. After graduation, I served as a staff nurse on a medical/surgical floor at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. I became board certified in medical/surgical nursing in 2011 through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
My clinical background and passion for the geriatric population led me to enroll in the RN-MSN program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2012. My expected graduation date is December 2015. At that time, I will seek certification to become an adult/geriatric nurse practitioner.
I now serve on several committees throughout the hospital including the Professional Development Council, 2 North’s Unit Practice Council, the Restraint and Seclusion task force, and many more. I am also currently serving as my unit’s Nurse Educator. I aim to continue my education by enrolling in a doctorate program. My goal is to promote the care of the elderly population and improve their quality of life.
