Biography: Dr. Ebeid is a Professor of Pediatrics (Cardiology) and Director of the Pediatric Catheterization Laboratory at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He is recognized nationally and internationally as an authority in catheter intervention for complex congenital heart disease, receiving referrals from within and outside the United States, and he has been invited to perform and teach catheter intervention procedures in multiple countries. He has served as the principal investigator for many devices before they were introduced to the American market, and he travels to proctor and teach physicians around the country in catheter techniques. Dr. Ebeid was the first in the region to perform many cardiac interventions for congenital heart disease and one of the few in the country to perform and pioneer some of these procedures, for which he is recognized as an authority in many techniques, such as transhepatic cardiac catheterization and intervention, among others. He has authored multiple papers and book chapters dedicated to catheter intervention techniques. Dr. Ebeid is an invited reviewer of many prominent medical journals, and has presented live interventions before national and international audiences, teaching catheter techniques. He has been invited as a moderator, chairperson, speaker, and faculty member in many prominent international cardiac conferences. Dr. Ebeid has been director/co-director and on the scientific committees of conferences/webinars, teaching advanced catheter procedures.
