Biography: Lea Ann Coxwell, CFNP, CPNP, has been working in the Center for Telehealth for the last 8 years as a Nurse Practitioner treating patients with minor medical complaints and promoting health education. She obtained her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1988. Lea Ann went on to get her Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Mississippi in 1995. She became certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 1995 followed by Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certification in 1999. Prior to Telehealth at UMMC, her past experience includes working as an RN in ICU for 7 years and as a nurse practitioner in a Rural Health Clinic for 15years and Acute Care Clinic 4 years for a total of 34 years in the medical field. She is a current member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Mississippi Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Mississippi Nurses Association.
