Baldwin, Zachary K., M.D.

Biography: Dr. Baldwin is a native Californian and earned his M.D. at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency training at the University of California, San Francisco-East Bay. During residency, he returned to the University of Chicago where he undertook a research fellowship focusing on biologic therapies used to inhibit intimal hyperplasia after vascular and endovascular surgery. The research culminated in the publication of several articles and the 2004 Lifeline Foundation Research award.
Dr. Baldwin went on to obtain specialty training at the University of California San Francisco where he completed a fellowship in vascular and endovascular surgery. He is board certified in both vascular and general surgery.
Dr. Baldwin joined the UMC faculty in 2008. His clinical interests include the use of minimally invasive catheter-based (endovascular) therapy for treatment of all types of vascular disease. His research interests include treatment of aortic aneurysm, diabetic peripheral vascular disease and dialysis access maturation.
