Following his residency, he dedicated three years to serving patients at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans. His commitment to patient care led him back to UMMC, where he has been a pivotal member of the Division of Hospital Medicine since its inception.

As the Division Director for Hospital Medicine, Dr. Asher has been instrumental in steering the division's direction and expansion, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care.
