Biography: Youssef Al Hmada, MD, is a board-certified anatomic and clinical pathologist at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC). He graduated from the University of Tishreen School of Medicine, Syria, in 2003. He completed his Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC), followed by a Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital Harvard Medical School. Dr. Al Hmada joined the department of pathology at UMMC in 2017. He served as an Assistant Director of Anatomic Pathology from 2019 to 2021 and as director of Anatomic Pathology since July 2021. He is also involved in resident, dental, and medical student education and became the Dental School Pathology Course Director in October 2018.
Her interests are surgical pathology with a special emphasis on skin, Bone and Soft tissue, and Perinatal Pathology. He is committed to providing superior diagnostic pathology services and resident, medical, and dental student education.
