Professional Liability Coverage

Employees of the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) are provided professional liability coverage for services provided within the course and scope of employment with UMMC through a self-insurance retention program that is subject to the Mississippi Tort Claims Act (Miss. Code Ann. §§ 11-46-1, et al.). Confirmation of coverage is available through the Office of General Counsel. To obtain proof of coverage, submit one of the following via email, fax or mail: 

• Signed Authorization to Release Information.

• Written request from individual that explicitly gives UMMC consent to release malpractice/ professional liability coverage information.

Please make certain to include full name, maiden name (if applicable), last four digits of social security number and/or UMMC Employee ID number. Failure to include the above information will delay the processing of your request. Please allow a minimum of seven business days to process the request.
