UMMC Grenada earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog that sets standards for excellence in patient care. An “A” Grade is the group’s top score for patient safety.

Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on more than 30 measures related to errors, accidents, injuries and infections. The group also measures the systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm to patients.

“This 'A' is well-deserved, and I’m honored to lead an organization that continually strives to improve the overall health of our community,” UMMC Grenada CEO Dodie McElmurray said. “The physicians and staff at our hospital are passionate about caring for their neighbors, and ensuring that every patient receives exceptional care."

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Click here to see full details for UMMC Grenada.
