Rosalyn L. Daniels, licensed professional counselor (LPC), will present the Center for Telehealth and Emerging Technologies webinar, "Maternal Mental Health & Co-occurring Substance Use Disorders," at noon Thursday, Oct. 8, online via Webex.

Upon completion of this webinar, participants should be able to:

1. Identify the prevalence, presentation and clinical impact of maternal mental health disorders and co-occurring substance use.
2. Examine how structural racism, social determinants of health and systemic inequities contribute to disparities among women of color.
3. Apply evidence-based screening tools to assess maternal mental health and substance use in diverse populations.
4. Recognize how stigma, bias and punitive responses to substance use disproportionately affect women of color and hinder treatment engagement.
5. Develop strategies to improve access, engagement and retention in care for pregnant and parenting women with co-occurring disorders.
