Physician educators contribute to improving public health by delivering patient care and developing comprehensive educational programs across the continuum of medical education, including students, residents, fellows and independently practicing physicians. This symposium will provide a forum to exchange best practices for medical education programs statewide and discuss topics affecting rural care nationally.
Physicians, administrators, educators and trainees will be able to:
Examine system issues that impact the provision of care for patients in rural communities
Explore best practices for managing select patient populations in rural communities
Review tools that support the provision of care for patients in rural communities
Identify ways to leverage medical education to support rural health care providers
