The HIV 101 Conference, "HIV 101: Improving The Health of Persons Diagnosed With HIV and Their Community," will take place from 8 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 9 at the Jackson Medical Mall.

Presenters include:

  • HIV 101: Pathogenesis, Diagnosis and Treatment of HIV – Aubri Hickman, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, AAHIVS 
  • HIV 101: MSDH Ryan White Program – Valencia Evans
  • HIV 101: An Introduction to Antiretroviral Therapy – James Brock, MD, MSCI, FACP
  • HIV 101: Social Work: Where Does It fit? – John Wesley McComas, LMSW
  • HIV 101: Biomedical Interventions for HIV Prevention – Boodoo Kamir, MD     

The goal of this course is to provide novice-level training to healthcare professionals, such as nurses and social workers, who are new to the field of HIV/AIDS treatment. This course can serve as a refresher for intermediate and expert providers. Breakfast and lunch will be served. For those who qualify, there will also be five hours of CE credit offered.
