Register to “Run the Rainbow” on Saturday, March 18, 2023 to support Children’s of Mississippi – the state’s only children’s hospital. Run the Rainbow will feature a new 5K route beginning and ending at Hal & Mal’s in downtown Jackson, and the 2023 event will also offer 10K and half marathon routes through downtown Jackson, Belhaven, and the University of Mississippi Medical Center campus!

Campus to see traffic changes for Run the Rainbow 

Visitors to the University of Mississippi Medical Center campus will need to enter campus via State Street to accommodate the inaugural Run the Rainbow 5K, 10K and Half Marathon, which starts at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, March 18.

Runners of 10K and half-marathon routes will pass through areas of the Medical Center campus including the drive beside the Kathy and Joe Sanderson Tower at Children’s of Mississippi, the three-way stop at South University Drive, the corner of East University Drive and Alumni Drive, the corner of Peachtree and Lakeland, and the three-way stop at Central University Drive near Garage A.

Manned barricades will be at the intersection by the Sanderson Tower, Frontage Road and East University Drive, East University and Lakeland, Peachtree and Lakeland, Alumni and Central University Drive by Garage A, and Peachtree and Peachtree Extension near Methodist Rehabilitation Center. Staff and patients required to park in Garages C and D will be allowed access to those areas.
