You Give It – We Bring It T-shirt raises blood donation awareness

UMMC’s Mississippi Center for Emergency Services and Mississippi Blood Services are offering “You Give It – We Bring It” T-shirts to individuals who donate blood from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Friday, June 4, at MCES or MBS’ Flowood site.

The shirts raise awareness of the importance of blood donation and the vital role blood donors have in helping AirCare critical care teams deliver medical care throughout the state. Each year, AirCare initiates the transfusion of more than 425 units of blood products to critical patients in flight – more than some hospitals. 

Family members of UMMC employees and students are invited to participate. Online signup is preferred to ensure availability. MBS’ goal is to collect 580 units of blood in the next three months.
