Mardi Gras run to benefit Friends of Children's Hospital

Friends of Children's Hospital will host a "Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler" event at the first "Mardi Gras - 0.5k, A Run for Everyone" to support pediatric patients at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at the Township at Colony Park in Ridgeland.

Participants can run, walk, stroll or dance to celebrate Fat Tuesday. Registration costs $30 and includes a T-shirt (for the first 200 to sign up), a "goodie" bag and a chance to win prizes. The event also will include music by the Mardi Gras Trombone Jazz Quartet, a magic show and a costume contest for people and pets.
