David Juergens, who worked at the Medical Center for decades, entertained a fondness for "times gone by." But reading books wasn’t the only way the longtime librarian indulged his passion for the past. As he discovered during his campus strolls, the pages of history lay right at his feet.

Everyone wants to deliver the best, safest care in a way that is productive and financially sound. UMMC is training about 50 leaders to facilitate change, make operations more smooth and efficient – and sustain that progress.

During their days at UMMC, Dr. Jason Griggs and Alana Bowman work in the School of Dentistry and in the School of Population Health, respectively. But on evenings and weekends, the husband-and-wife team travel back hundreds of years through time with the Society for Creative Anachronism.

Several interesting events are scheduled for the upcoming weeks at the Medical Center.
