UMMC expands health care access with UMMC Madison

Since its acquisition in May, the Canton-based hospital formerly known as Merit Health Madison is officially part of the UMMC hospital system. Now operating as UMMC Madison, the facility will serve as both a community care hub and a training site for future health professionals.

Medical Center teams with a need for speed battled for bragging rights in the race’s first running since 2019. The competition was held during Fondren Block Party on June 5. UMMC’s Adult Emergency Department’s team, the IV League, placed second.

A secure, password-protected camera system lets parents peek at their babies when they can’t be with them. Donors include a Merigold restaurant’s former staff members and a retired NICU nurse practitioner.
