Visitors to the Mississippi Children’s Museum Saturday got health screenings to make sure they’ll be ready for classes in August. The Back-to-School Health Rally, funded by the Child Health Development Project, also included fire and safety education, ideas for healthy eating and activities. The first 300 participants received backpacks.

A major gifts officer for the University of Mississippi Medical Center Office of Development and Alumni Engagement, Harold Brewer is also pastor of Mountain Ridge Christian Fellowship Church in Brandon. The two callings have plenty of similarities, including meeting new people and sharing good news.
