As cases of the novel coronavirus known as COVID-19 continue to be diagnosed worldwide, Medical Center experts are equipping employees and staff with the vital information they need to be prepared should UMMC receive a patient with the new strain, first detected in late 2019 in Wuhan City, China.

Future physicians, nurse practitioners, first responders and others will now be exposed to more cutting-edge training at the Medical Center, thanks to a global company’s gift of an advanced anesthesia machine. Simulation and Interprofessional Education Center staff say the machine is destined to pump new life into the campus’ learning environment.
