After 44 years, Agnes Triplett is going home. Triplett, executive assistant to the dean of the School of Dentistry, is retiring June 29. She's been at the helm of the SOD's fifth floor for each of the nine deans who have served the school, and with her goes a wealth of knowledge.

Smaller incisions are leading to shorter hospital stays and faster recovery times for heart surgery patients at Batson Children’s Hospital. Available since 2015 through the Children’s Heart Center, minimally invasive procedures are being used to treat a growing number of congenital heart conditions.

More than 70 current Medical Center faculty will begin the 2018-19 academic year with a promotion in rank, newly granted tenure or both. A fourth-year dental student is selected to take part in the National Institutes of Health Medical Research Scholars Program, while a radiology house officer is one of 10 residents and fellows nationwide to earn a ticket to the Radiology Leadership Institute.
