Dr. Mary Taylor, named chair of the Department of Pediatrics this week, is making history at UMMC. The first woman and first UMMC graduate to hold the post, she will be among those turning shovels of dirt to usher in construction of a new seven-story, 340,000-square-foot children’s tower tomorrow.

Patients coping with cardiovascular disease might require visits to surgeons, cardiologists, nutritionists, respiratory therapists and other caregivers to manage facets of their complex illnesses. UMMC is improving those patients’ experience with a clinical service line approach, bringing together multiple specialists to treat patients in one visit.
