Are you a bachelor's-prepared RN who wants to take your nursing education to the next level? Are you interested in becoming a nurse practitioner, educator or administrator? Whether you are seeking a successful nursing career in practice, education or administration, the MSN program at UMMC is the right choice for you. Here are a few reasons why:
As the first school in the state to offer both the bachelor's and master's nursing programs, the School of Nursing has a reputation for offering quality graduate and undergraduate nursing education. In addition, the SON is located on Mississippi's only academic health science campus. UMMC also has the state's only Level 1 trauma center as well as the state's only children's hospital. You will gain not only the best nursing education in the state, but also access to a truly unique learning environment and unlimited resources — all at your fingertips! Likewise, the graduate program is affiliated with more than 200 hospitals, community health centers, health departments, mental health facilities, private practice and community clinics and schools, thus offering students extensive opportunity for interdisciplinary collaboration in clinical practice and research.
The purpose of the MSN program is to prepare nurses for advanced roles in nursing and provide a solid foundation for additional graduate study. Eligible students may be from Mississippi or surrounding states. Out-of-state tuition scholarships are available on a competitive basis.
The educational programs at the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Nursing are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
The purpose of the post-master's program is to prepare nurses for advanced roles in nursing and provide a solid foundation for additional graduate study. Eligible students may be from Mississippi or surrounding states. Out-of-state tuition scholarships are available on a competitive basis.
Early acceptance into the DNP program is offered to outstanding UMMC MSN students through a competitive selection process. Admission into the DNP program can occur after completion of all first-semester courses of the MSN program through early entry or through regular entry after completing the MSN degree.
