Division of Nephrology
The Division of Nephrology at UMMC provides state-of-the-art care to more than 10,000 patients a year suffering from various forms of kidney disease and hypertension. These patients, located throughout the state of Mississippi, have access to both inpatient and outpatient consultation as well as full service inpatient and outpatient dialysis. In addition, we are the only renal transplant center in the state of Mississippi and provide comprehensive care to transplant patients in both the inaptient and outpatient setting.
Our faculty has varied areas of academic focus and expertise that collectively allow us to provide care for renal diseases and complicated patients as only an academic center can. Range of poblems treated include, but are not limited to, acute renal failure, chronic kidney disease, end-stage renal diseases, diabetic nephropathy and essential, secondary and resistant hypertension.
We also pride ourselves on our dedication to education on all levels of the medical curriculum, teaching medical students, residents and our own nephrology rellows. The Nephrology training we provide our fellows is an intensive clinical experience that includes all facets of a nephrology practice.
