  • Workforce Development Scholarship

    Effective Summer 2016-17, the University of Mississippi Medical Center Employee Tuition Benefit (ETB) will change to the Workforce Development Scholarship (WDS). The Workforce Development Scholarship is available to eligible UMMC employees and could cover the cost of tuition for up to six hours per semester of qualifying courses taken at UMMC. Eligible recipients will meet the following criteria: 

    • Applicant must be a full-time employee for 1 year prior to application, have the recommendation of their immediate supervisor, approved HR performance evaluation of 3.0 or higher, and be approved by WDS review committee.
    • Employee must be accepted and enrolled in a degree-seeking program relative to job description, but will be allowed the first 6 hours as a non-degree-seeking student upon supervisory approval.
    • Employee must maintain satisfactory academic progress.
    • Employee must agree to a service commitment of 6 months for each semester of benefit received. If the employee resigns prior to completing the service commitment, repayment of the scholarship plus interest is required.
