Exercise is Medicine (EIM): a single prescription that can change your life.

There are more than 40 health problems, such as high blood pressure, that can be managed or prevented by living a healthy lifestyle that includes exercise. Exercise can be your prescription to long-term health and wellness.

University Wellness Center, a part of University of Mississippi Medical Center, offers Exercise is Medicine (EIM), an eight-week supervised small-group exercise program of the American College of Sports Medicine.

We coordinate with your health care provider to support your overall treatment plan.

The program includes:

  • Supervision and support provided by degreed and certified fitness specialists
  • Initial consultation to set goals and establish baseline measurements
  • Individual exercise plan written for you; three sessions per week
  • Follow-up consultation to compare baseline measurements and post program improvements
  • Summary report provided to you and your health care provider
  • Nutritional support available at additional cost
  • Unlimited access to University Wellness Center
