On Friday, Match Day 2017, fourth-year medical students around the country learned where they will be training for their specialties over the next three to seven years. The more than 130 School of Medicine M4s here at the Medical Center were among the record-setting 35,969 U.S. and international medical students and graduates who competed for fewer than 32,000 positions. The number of available first-year positions was 28,849 – or nearly 1,000 more than last year’s figure.
