Research methods

Measurements of blood pressure in rodents. Flow cytometry techniques including immunophenotyping, apoptosis, proliferation, calcium flux, and cell cycle analyses. Cell culture and cell line cloning including hybridoma production. Basic biochemical and molecular techniques including ELISA, immunoblotting, immunoprecipitation, PCR, cloning, protein expression, and protein purification.

Current projects

  • Identifying the role of autoantibody secreting plasma cells in the pathogenesis of hypertension in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)

  • Examining the role of regulatory T cell dysfunction in hypertension and renal injury in SLE
