Biography Information
Rachel Palmer is originally from a small community outside of Hattiesburg, MS. She received her undergraduate and medical degree from William Carey University in Hattiesburg, where she also met her future spouse. She then completed pediatrics residency at UMMC in Jackson. At the end of her training, she married her husband, Muhammed Bilal, and moved to Southern CA where she worked as a Neonatal Hospitalist. As her husband finished his surgical training, she was able to return to MS for NICU fellowship, which has been a lifelong dream, in addition to be close to family. She enjoys hiking, traveling, hosting dinner parties, and spending time with her dogs and family outside of work.

"I have known that I wanted to be a doctor since I was 12 years old and I briefly thought my side-job would be an interior designer. I am the first in my family to attend university. I stayed local all through undergrad and medical school and now I'm branching out living 2 hours from home."
