Hospital Pediatrics

Division of Hospital Pediatrics

Helping children heal in a hospital setting is the focus of the Division of Hospital Pediatrics, a part of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. There, medical students, residents and fellows are trained in the field, which includes caring for children with a wide variety of illnesses and medical needs, including illnesses of the blood, skin, lungs and kidneys, respiratory illnesses, chronic conditions such as diabetes and asthma, recovery from injuries or surgeries and newborn care. These specialized physicians smooth the transition for children and families into and out of hospital care by working with pediatricians the children see as outpatients.
