Teaching is a passion of the faculty and residents in the Department of Otolaryngology and Communicative Sciences. We believe a broad education, which covers as many aspects of medicine as possible, ensures graduating students will have the skills necessary to provide superior health care to their patients. Junior and senior medical students are offered an opportunity to rotate on our services and spend time both in the clinic and in the operating room. They gain exposure to head and neck oncology, rhinology, pediatric otolaryngology, facial plastics, otology and laryngology. The two-week junior rotation may be taken as an elective. Senior medical students interested in a career in otolaryngology as well as those entering primary care fields may elect to rotate on our service for a full month. Research opportunities in otolaryngology also exist.
We welcome students from UMMC and from other medical schools to experience otolaryngology with us!
