We are glad that you are considering applying to our residency program. We have a very exciting and dynamic group of faculty members and residents. We have superb faculty members in every subspecialty area including sleep medicine and surgery. The department has developed an outstanding reputation for its commitment to teaching residents and medical students and ranks in the top 25 programs nationally in terms of NIH research funding. We have a close-knit friendly group of faculty and residents who genuinely care about their colleagues. We allow residents to reach their own potential rather than attempting to mold them to our design.

Our departmental vision is to create an environment that would make you want to send your own family member there for care or education. This environment is characterized by teamwork, service to others, camaraderie, having fun, working hard, being the best in customer service, loving to teach, leadership, and innovation. We consistently rank near the top in the nation in patient satisfaction in our department, and we lead our institution in this regard. We seek to be known among the medical students as the best department in terms of teaching, clinical care, and the quality of our residents. We want our residency graduates to be proud of their department and to return to visit for years to come. We want to be leaders locally and nationally and to produce graduates that will do the same whether in academic or private medicine.
