Born and raised in Mississippi, I wanted to stay close to home and train in the same area I plan to practice. In addition, this program demonstrates a great blue-collar work culture and camaraderie that I wanted to be a part of. The outstanding operating experience and level of teaching that occurs here is outstanding. Over the years, I have noticed that each resident is extremely well trained and qualified for any orthopaedic job or fellowship post-residency. UMMC allows me every opportunity to become as great of an orthopaedic surgeon as I can possibly be, all while being close to my family and friends.
