School of Dentistry Faculty Openings

Pediatric Dentist

The University of Mississippi School of Dentistry is seeking applications for full-time and part-time faculty positions in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry and Community Health at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank. Responsibilities include serving in the didactic and clinical instructor settings for a wide range of pediatric dentistry topics. Applicants must be experienced and/or able to deliver departmental and educational curricular content to pre-doctoral dental students and post-doctoral pediatric dentistry residents. Applicants must be able to participate, and supervise students and residents, in all aspects of pediatric dentistry including but not limited to: screening, diagnosis, radiographic interpretation, comprehensive treatment planning, operative, fixed and removable prosthodontics, endodontics, periodontics, and oral surgery. Clinical duties will include after-hours call, delivering care in the operating room outside a typical 8-5 work day, and consulting with medical services. Expectations include academic pursuits for personal and professional development; teaching with a student-centered effectiveness and accessibility; a spirit of teamwork, collaboration and professionalism; and responsibility and ethical participation in the educational process and dental practice.

Minimum requirements include a DDS, DMD or equivalent dental degree from an international accredited program; eligibility for an unrestricted Mississippi dental license; successful completion of a CODA accredited pediatric dental residency program; and successful hospital credentialing by the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Preference will be given to candidates possessing a board certificate or are board-eligible from the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Salary and rank are commensurate with credentials and experience. This full-time faculty position is eligible for either tenure or non-tenure track. Opportunity for advancement to program director of the pediatric dentistry residency program is available.
