Tuition and Fees

For information on tuition and fees for the Health Informatics and Information Management Programs, contact the Office of Student Accounting.

As stated in the UMMC Bulletin, the Medical Center reserves the right to increase or modify tuition and fees without prior notice subject to the approval of the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning.

Estimated Additional Expenses - Traditional Program

In addition to tuition, fees, health insurance, and professional association dues, students should be prepared to spend approximately $2325 the first year and $1650 the second year for necessary books and supplies.

Junior year

  • Books - $2000
  • Educational supplies - $275
  • AHIMA student membership - $49

Senior year

  • Books - $1300
  • National Certification fees - $300
  • AHIMA student membership - $49

In addition to tuition, fees, health insurance, and professional association dues, students should be prepared to spend approximately $1050 the first year and $1350 the second year for necessary books and supplies.

Junior year

  • Books - $750
  • Educational supplies - $250
  • AHIMA student membership - $49

Senior year

  • Books - $1000
  • National Certification fees - $300
  • AHIMA student membership - $49

Computer/Electronic Devices - Traditional and Progression

Both bachelor tracks are online programs. Students are required to have a computer to access online courses.

To ensure that you have a computer that meets minimum standards to function with UMMC platforms, it must at least function at the following levels:

  • Windows 7 or Windows 10
  • Must be patched by Operating System Company regularly;
  • Modern browser such as the latest Chrome or Internet Explorer/Edge; and
  • Must run a modern and updated anti-virus solution.

Travel to off-campus clinical rotations - Traditional and Progression

Students are required to travel to off-campus clinical rotations. Therefore, students should be prepared to provide their own transportation and other incidental expenses during these clinical affiliations.
