Admission Requirements for HIIM Master Degrees

To be considered for admission into the Master of Health Informatics and Information Management program, candidates must meet all UMMC requirements for admission and submit evidence of the following:

  • Have a bachelor's degree from a regionally-accredited institution of higher learning with a GPA of at least 3.00 on a 4.00 scale on the last 60 hours attempted. Applicants accepted usually have a higher than minimum grade point average.
  • Prerequisite coursework requirements (a grade of C or better): Human anatomy and physiology, which covers all body systems. At most institutions this is usually taught in two courses.
  • An official report of Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores.
  • A resume.
  • An essay.
  • All application and support documents completed and submitted to the Office of Student Records and Registrar, including a non-refundable application fee of $25.

All application documents and application fees for the program must be received by the Office of Student Records and Registrar by May 15 for fall admission.
