Doctor of Health Administration Admission Requirements

In addition to the admission standards of the institution and the SHRP general admission requirements, candidates seeking admission to the Doctor of Health Administration program must meet the following requirements:  

  • Awarded a master’s degree or professional doctorate from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning with a GPA of at least 3.00 on a 4.00 scale in a health care-related field

    OR

    Awarded a master’s degree from a regionally-accredited institution of higher learning with a GPA of at least 3.00 on a 4.00 scale with  five or more years of experience in health care management, health care policy, clinical medical specialty, etc.
  • Official scores on the Graduate Record Exam (GRE).  Note: There are no waivers for this requirement.  Please allow time to prepare and sit for the exam. More information can be found on the ETS website.
  • Current curriculum vitae or resume
  • Essay documenting previous heath care experience

All application documents and application fees must be received by the Office of Student Records and Registrar by Feb. 1 for summer admission. Final transcripts indicating graduate degree completion should be included in these documents. A limited number of applicants will be admitted to the Doctor of Health Administration program with students selected on a competitive basis. Qualification does not ensure admission.
