TITLE: Grade Forgiveness
PURPOSE: To establish policy regarding repeat
coursework for prospective students and enrolled students of the John D. Bower School
of Population Health.
POLICY: A prospective
student of the Bower School of Population Health who has successfully repeated a
course at the same institution at which the original course was attempted may have
the higher grade used in calculating the overall grade point average (GPA) for
admission.
An enrolled student in the Bower School of
Population Health may retake a course, and the higher grade earned in the course
will be used in calculating the student’s overall GPA. Although the lower grade
will not be calculated into the student’s overall GPA, it will remain on the University
of Mississippi Medical Center transcript.
