John D. Bower School of Population Health
DOCUMENT TYPE: Policy
REVIEW PERIOD: 3 Years
TITLE: Transfer of Credit
PURPOSE: To establish policy for
transfer of academic credit to the John D. Bower School of Population Health at
the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
POLICY: A Bower School of
Population Health student may request a transfer of credit to the Bower School
of Population Health office of the dean using the Transfer of Credit Approval Form, which will be evaluated by the
program director and dean or dean’s designee.
No
more than fifteen (15) credit hours will be accepted for credit toward Bower
School of Population Health degree requirements. Only credits from an
accredited institution that have not been applied to a previously earned degree
will be considered for transfer. Credits will only be accepted for grades of
“B” or higher and will not be used to calculate the student’s University of
Mississippi Medical Center GPA, but are counted toward the hours required for a
given degree.
Approved
credits will be recorded, without changes in grades, as part of the student’s
permanent academic record. Transfer courses are indicated on the student’s
transcript by the designation “T”, to indicate credit has been given.
Transfer of credit from institutions outside the
U.S. requires
assurance in the form of a course-by-course report from World Education
Services (WES) or Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE).
SCOPE: All SOPH Students
