TITLE: Academic Integrity and Student Behavior
PURPOSE: To establish policy for ethical and professional
behavior by students enrolled in the John D. Bower School of Population Health.
POLICY: Integrity is the foundation of scientific
endeavors. All students enrolled in the Bower School of Population Health are
expected to conduct themselves ethically and professionally and with the utmost
integrity. Students must be honest and trustworthy in all academic environments
(i.e., while participating in courses, while performing research, and while
participating in clinical duties). Students will not cheat on examinations,
plagiarize the work of others, falsify documents or results, or inappropriately
access or divulge protected patient information. Students will not engage in
any unethical conduct or unprofessional behavior. Furthermore, students will
report such behavior to the responsible authority (e.g., course director, or
program director).
Students must
adhere to all University of Mississippi Medical Center and Bower School of
Population Health policies. Any student who does not meet the standards of ethical
and professional conduct may be subject to disciplinary action up to and
including dismissal from the Bower School of Population Health.
