REVIEW
PERIOD: 3 years
TITLE: Course Load
PURPOSE:
To establish guidelines for
official student course load in the John D. Bower School of Population Health.
POLICY: A full-time course load
in the Bower School of Population Health is nine (9) credit hours per semester
except for the summer term when one (1) credit hour minimum is sufficient. A doctoral
student who is admitted to candidacy and is working on a dissertation may be
classified as a full-time student while registering for one (1) credit hour. A
masters student who has completed their coursework and is working on a thesis
may be classified as a full-time student while registering for one (1) credit
hour.
A part-time student is one
who is enrolled in less than nine (9) credit hours per fall and spring semester.
Since some programs within
the Bower School of Population Health allow for both full-time and part-time
study, students should consult their program director to determine the criteria
for maintaining full-time or part-time status within their program.
Listed below are the
requirements that determine official student enrollment certification. This
status may be utilized by the Office of Enrollment Management and for determining financial assistance.
