STUDENT COMMUNICATION POLICY
PURPOSE: It is the mission of UMMC academic programs to train excellent professionals who engage in innovative research and deliver state-of-the-art health care. Effective communication among health care and bioscience professionals is a critical skill for effective practice within these communities.
Policy: Students and other learners are responsible for all communication with the institution regarding their educational activities. Such communication includes, but is not limited to, matters of registration, course conduct, academic performance, compliance with UMMC policy, and administrative processes.
A student’s permission to discuss his/her education records with others seeking to advocate on the student’s behalf under the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act does not alter the student’s obligation to communicate for themselves and to personally represent themselves as developing professionals.
