PURPOSE: To define institutional criteria for designation of a student to be in good academic standing.
POLICY: Each school shall publish the academic criteria that a student must meet in order to be considered “in good academic standing”. Criteria shall be related to standards commonly considered to be academic in nature, which may include but are not necessarily limited to, course grades, standardized examinations, violations of ethical standards, placement on academic probation, and/or percentage of a standard course load taken by a student (full-time or less than full-time). The Office of Enrollment Management shall be notified when a student is no longer “in good academic standing”; under what circumstances that student can be considered for return to “in good academic standing”; when the student is removed from academic probation, or when additional action is taken relative to that probation.
SCOPE: All UMMC schools
